Land and climate

This area’s climatic and geological features are particularly good for vine growing. With a height of 800 metres, and only occasional rain, dry periods last throughout summers. This, together with a clayey and limy soil, grants ideal conditions to produce best quality grapes, the first step for obtaining first class wines.

Vineyards

The vineyards are distributed over different areas, all unirrigated: Aldehuela, Sabuco, Santísimo, Monte Encinar and Hoyabaza, and the predominant variety are tempranillo. Their average age is 15-20 years old, and most of them are set in espalier, to obtain an adequate density of vegetation in order to have sufficient aeration, improve sun raising and as a result control development of the vineyards.
